| About the KSAE
The seed of the Korean Society of Applied Entomology (KSAE) was
planted when the Korean Society of Plant Protection was founded
in 1962; its own separate history started in 1988 when the Korean
Society of Plant Protection was divided into the Korean Society
of Plant Pathology and the KSAE.
Today, the Society has more than five hundred regular members dedicated
to education, commerce, and research, who are affiliated with governmental,
educational, and research institutes. Members include students,
researchers, institute administrators, and market/extension service
personnel who are interested in various fields of applied entomology
comprising invertebrate zoology, pesticides, and other related fields.
KSAE is a none-profit professional society managed by an elected
board of directors. The administrative office is located in the
National Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology in Suwon,
Korea.
The Society aims to advance and disseminate to the public knowledge
concerning all aspects of entomology and Korean fauna. The Society
achieves this objective by publishing two scientific journals and
periodical newsletters, by organizing meetings, and by awarding
distinguished young researchers for their novelty and contribution
to applied entomology.
In addition, the Society hosts international events, such as international
entomological congresses or inviting eminent foreign scientists
to our annual meetings; we aim to achieve our scientific goal through
facilitating the exchange of innovative ideas.
The Society is, has been, and will continue to strive for advancements
in applied entomology.
